Many A level students went through a stressful time in August, as A level grades were awarded in lieu of cancelled exams. The challenges for students, schools, colleges and teachers have been significant.
The University welcomed all students who achieved their place based on grades adjusted by the algorithm. In addition, the University honoured offers for students who missed their offer with Birmingham based on their algorithm grade, but who met the criteria based on the revised grades as predicted by their teachers.
The only exceptions were where the number of places are externally capped and/or where the University is reliant on external placements, which are limited in number. These include Medicine, Dentistry, Dental Hygiene and Therapy, Nursing, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Applied Golf Management Studies, and degree apprenticeships in Computer Science in partnership with PWC and Vodafone.
